The choices we make early in life have an enormous impact on our future. I have always known that I wanted to directly impact people’s lives. My personal experiences have had a large impact on my motivation to accomplish all my dreams. In the future, I would love to influence another generation of students to soar for their dreams. Throughout school, I suffered from test anxiety. Taking standardized tests always stressed me out and I would perform much lower than my grades suggested I was capable. Because of my low SAT scores, I worried that I would not be accepted into the college of my choice, but over time I have realized that my positive attributes can offset my low test scores. Working with high school students, I would love to†¦show more content†¦I am self-motivated and tend to focus on detail. I always go above the requirements in order to ensure that I do the best I can. Working with high school students, I would focus on the whole problem and find the best solution for the individual student. Even though I have many of the attributes necessary to become a school counselor, I have one major barrier that I must overcome. I am a middle class white woman, but would like to work with at risk individuals to promote better futures. My experience with the VCU Addiction and Women’s Health: Advancing Research and Evaluation (AWHARE) Research Team has allowed me the opportunity to interact with at risk pregnant women. Through this experience, I have seen the reluctance that many participants feel about trusting individuals because of their past experiences; however, with continuing support, the women begin to trust the research team. I know that my background is a barrier that I can overcome through continually supporting students with all problems they face during high school. After looking at a variety of graduate programs, I believe that the University of South Carolina is the school with the best opportunity for me. One aspect of the program that interests me is the diversity focus. 3.2 Data collection Data was collected for this research project from both primary and secondary sources. The primary source used was the data collection method of semi-structured interviews. As this research project is an exploratory study, the use of semi-structured interviews was used to gain insights from experts from TJG on the research question of market entry strategies for PA entering the UK (Saunders, Lewis Thornhill 2016). Secondary sources used included government websites, journal articles, newspapers and retail industry journals. Table 3 lists nine key personnel within TJG involved with the PA and Smiggle brands who were interviewed.
